The Marketing Communications Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling content, manage campaigns, and enhance the overall visibility and reputation of the organization. Managing a team of excellent marketers, you and your team will be responsible for working with key internal and ad agency stakeholders to meet and exceed defined business goals, establishing appropriate metrics, analyzing and reporting overall results of marketing programs, and serving as primary marketing department interface with your Business Unit partners. You will need to be comfortable leading, supporting and enabling a small team of marketers to drive outstanding outcomes for the organization.

Essential functions

  • Attain deep and meaningful understanding of SAE's product portfolio as it relates to industry/sector-specific dynamics, product pipelines, customer data, market and competitive data, customer trends, and independent observations to develop marketing communication strategies, including key metrics, for BU clients via annual planning process.
  • Monitor and report status of ongoing marketing projects to elevate potential issues/roadblocks to appropriate levels for proper and timely mitigation.
  • Provide regular updates on marketing program progress via a monthly reporting dashboard measuring KPIs.
  • Supervision and management of marketing communications staff to ensure business, mission, and marketing goals are accomplished. Ensure consistency in brand messaging and voice across all communication platform.
  • Collaborates with the business unit leaders and agency partners, to develop project briefs including the creation of budgets and marketing tactics that will drive integrated marketing efforts (cross-accountability) to attain business objectives.
  • Act as a player/coach, stepping in to assist on the execution of projects and campaigns where needed.
  • Own and manage marketing budget for your assigned products and projects, ensuring we meet or exceed all outcome targets and KPIs while delivering within defined return on ad spend (ROAS) requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience implementing integrated marketing communications strategies and programs
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing a team
  • Experience in content based marketing development and execution inclusive of SEO, SEM, digital and social media marketing methods, required-Experience in developing demand creation programs that pull through measurable results for specific business unit programs/services
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Thorough knowledge for managing the development of integrated product marketing, marketing automation, brand management, graphic design, production, printing, and direct mail programs
  • Excellent project management, high process-orientation, organizational and planning skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfort level with writing, creating both short form, direct response copy, as well as longer form, thought leadership copy
  • Experience in the mobility industry, information products industry or ad agency
  • Non-profit association experience
  • Excellent customer/program management capabilities, required B2B and B2C marketing knowledge
  • Working knowledge of marketing automation and how to leverage data
  • Ability to adapt to continuously changing deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to contribute to team and self guided projects and activities
  • 5% Travel
