Dynamic Integrated Services (DIS) * is currently seeking an unpaid Summer 2024 Communications, Research, and Program Analysis Intern to join our Strategic Communications and Integrated Marketing practice. The ideal candidate will be available between 20-30 hours per week in Summer 2024. Start and end dates are flexible. This is a fully remote, paid position available to all candidates in the United States.

The candidate's primary responsibility will be to support the team by performing policy and communications research, analysis, data compilation and reporting, producing written reports, information papers, communications materials, and social media content.

Specific duties will be assigned based upon client and account needs, and will include the following:

  • Support nationwide communications campaigns and associated communication and research activities such as communication planning, material development, and use-insight gathering
  • Develop content for a variety of communication materials such as fact sheets, FAQ documents, newsletters and email messages to support campaigns
  • Write content for websites and social media platforms
  • Research and develop media and partner outreach lists
  • Generate creative and original ideas for reaching and engaging target audiences and communicating key messages
  • Assist in tracking and creating materials to support events
  • Research, analyze, and report on policies, legislation, and other information sources related to client topics, issues, processes, and other areas
  • Provide project and program team support to include assisting in the development of meeting agendas and drafting of meeting minutes

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Rising Junior, Senior, or recent graduate with a degree in communication, marketing, sociology, psychology, public relations, or a related field
  • Should have interest in planning, developing, and implementing communications activities, including developing communication plans, strategies, messages, and tactics as part of outreach or education campaigns
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of communications best practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.
  • The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.

About the role:

Global Online Academy (GOA) seeks a Communications Associate to assist with a wide range of communications, marketing, and member school engagement activities. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Communications & Engagement.

The Communications Associate will work across the organization building relationships with GOA's Student Program, Center for Professional Learning, and Design Lab teams. In support of the organization's marketing and communications efforts, the candidate will be responsible for developing social media content, updating the GOA website, working on engagement email campaigns, and more. It is expected that the successful candidate will utilize GOA's Salesforce and Pardot systems, and assist with operational tasks related to these systems as needed. This individual will also be responsible for GOA's customer support email, responding to inquiries in a timely and thoughtful manner.

Critical to success in this role is a strong focus on customer success, a desire to learn and grow in an innovative education non-profit, and a demonstrated interest in marketing/ communications. This is a fully remote position.

What you will do:

  • Respond to inquiries that come in through the organization's general support email and phone in a timely and professional manner. Work in partnership with colleagues across the organization to ensure that the correct information is shared with inquiring parties.
  • Ideate, design, and schedule content for social media channels in partnership with the Director of Communications and Engagement.
  • Monitor GOA's social media channels and relevant education media. Update GOA website and assist with project management of various marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Run reports and work with bulk data in Salesforce and Pardot, and provide general program support as needed.
  • Work in partnership with the Engagement team and Communications team to develop email engagement workflows and other marketing content to keep key contacts up to date on GOA and share stories of impact with broader GOA audiences.


  • 3-5 years of professional work experience with 2+ years of prior social media marketing experience and a passion for customer service
  • Attention to detail, critical-thinker, and problem-solver
  • Strong communication, project management, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Salesforce and Pardot for email marketing engagement (or other similar CRM systems)
  • Graphic design, SEO writing, video editing, and social media advertising experience a plus

Defines and builds new book features, content types, and product areas as part of SAE Books’ industry-centered product team. Makes product positioning recommendations to management and counterparts.

Drives and participates in user-experience research to identify obstacles, improve ease-of-use and customer satisfaction. Articulates research findings to management in order to impact future product direction. Creates and delivers formal presentations and conducts group discussions on products for a broad range of audiences. Helps develop and review public relations and marketing communications materials such as collateral, press releases, and data sheets.

Continually reviews product usage data and maintains an ongoing dialog with customers and internal stakeholders, particularly sales, on trends, risks and opportunities.

Contributing to the achievement of SAE's organizational goals. Additional projects as assigned.


Bachelors degree Field(s): English, Humanities, Marketing or related field with relevant STEM experience.
